From VeloNews:
On a disappointing note, the peloton will have one less rider today, as Barloworld's Moises Duenas has been pulled from the Tour de France after a urine sample provided after stage 4 showed signs of (what else?) EPO.
Would you all please STOP TAKING DRUGS!? I don't even care about Moises Duenas, whom I'd never heard of before this VeloNews report. It's just--every rider I care about keeps getting bumped from the Tour because of drugs, and I wish they'd all just LEARN already. There's a long list of people who aren't in the Tour this year, who should be, and I'm finding it very hard to care about Cadel Evans and Alejandro Valverde and whoever the hell else is in the running for the GC. I thought I was going to care about the points competition because, you know, Thor Hushovd, but it doesn't even seem like he's competing for it. So this continues to be the most boring Tour EVAR.

Because I am in a very bad mood, here is a very pretty picspam of people who should be in the Tour and aren't:

Remember these guys? They're actually interesting! )

Okay, I'm enjoying the pretty, but now I'm really depressed. *sigh*

I've decided to register for two classes this fall, probably Library Automation and a special topic on Genealogy in public libraries. I've spent the last couple weeks deciding if I was ready to do this or not, and I can finally say that I feel really confident about it. So, ideally, I can take two classes in the fall and two in the spring and be done!

These days mainly all I'm doing is working at SNU. That's supposed to end when school starts there, so I don't know what I'm going to do for work beyond that. Life. Don't talk to me about life.

I'm also obsessively following the Landis doping allegations. *sigh* He doesn't seem like the kind of person who would do that, but with the weight of all the other doping allegations surrounding this year's Tour, it's starting to seem like *everyone* must be doing it. And I wish Greg Lemond would stop talking out of his ass.

What's up with you?

He said it right! I've been yelling at Al Troutwig all month for saying "backslash" all the time when he's reading off URLs. "Go to OLN dot com backslash TDF." GRRRR. It is a FORWARD SLASH OH MY GOD SAY IT RIGHT. But! He just said SLASH!!!1!!ONE! He HEARD me! *savors*

This is all in service of the Saab giveaway. You have to go to their website and enter the day's code word. Even though Al has already patiently explained to Bob that he's not eligible to win, he's still trolling out hope. He just asked Bob what color Saab he's going to choose. Bob, being Bob, wants a purple one with a paisley pattern.

I've been extremely irritable for a few weeks now. I don't know what it is, but practically every night I get to a point where everything people say, to me or to each other, and everything they do annoys me.

I got my hair colored yesterday! It's awesome, three different colors. Lori is completely awesome. The underside is really dark brown-red, which they call Cherry Cola. Then the top is chestnut and blonde in chunks, sort of. I completely love it. No picture yet, unfortunately, but I'll try to get one for you soon.

The Tour de France so far this year has been incredibly weird. Most of the leaders were out before it started, and now even the presumed favorites aren't doing that well, except for Floyd Landis, whose team strategy isn't making a whole lot of sense to me. The yellow jersey is getting passed around a whole bunch to people no one would have expected to get it. I just don't know what to make of it. It's not really as compelling this way, I can't help but feel. However, I do have a new Tour boyfriend, Yaroslav Popovych of Discovery Channel. He's 26 and from the Ukraine and completely adorable. So far this year we have learned that Iban Mayo completely sucks and Floyd Landis' hip is dead. Don't forget. There'll be a test.

I've been working a bit at my old job at SNU in the IT Department. Not full-time, but I am getting a lot of hours. It's not going to be forever, though, so I'm still looking for a real job. *sighs*

Today [info]picara and I hung out with [info]acostilow. We got to cuddle her adorable new kitty, which has been the highlight of my week. I am such a sucker for kittens. She's so small! And soft! We also watched the premier of SGA and Serenity, which I continue to love. [info]acostilow made cherry cheese cake, because she is made of awesome.

Tomorrow I'm not working, so I have my counseling appointment. I think I may possibly have convinced the counselor I'm not seekritly a lesbian. Then again, she may just be biding her time before bringing it up again.

One of the many reasons I love the Tour de France:
13:43:12 - Bike Problems For Dumoulin

The two riders at the front of the stage stopped momentarily. Dumoulin had a problem with his bike and it was tended to by a team mechanic. As this happened, Bjorn Schroder took the opportunity to answer the call of nature.

One of the riders in the breakaway had a flat, so the other guy stopped and waited for him. Just--this has got to be the only sport where that kind of thing happens. (Also, gotta love the whole "answer the call of nature" thing. Is Phil Liggett writing these flashes?)
