astolat has managed to drag me kicking and screaming into American Idol fandom. *shakes head* I don't know how that happened, except that Adam Lambert is seriously hot, Kris Allen is adorable, and they are clearly meant to be having as much sex as humanly possible. I spent like an hour today at work watching astolat's videos from the Boston concert. And now I kind of want to go to a concert. *cough*

And! Since everybody on the whole entire Internets got into Merlin a few months ago, picara, acostilow, and I decided we should probably check it out. And, um. That show is really cheesy and has bad special effects, and I can't stand the way the character of Uther is (not) written, but. Colin Morgan is a doorbell! With the ears! And the grin! Merlin and Arthur are two sides of the same coin! Even the dragon slashes them! So, yes, I'm enjoying myself. Haven't seen the last two eps yet, but I will soon.

Sadly, I've mostly moved on from SGA. It just happened without me realising it. I used to check sga_newsletter every day, then it got to where I'd wait a few days and catch up on several newsletters at once, and then one day I realised it had been weeks since I'd even looked at it. *sigh* It's kind of like when I drifted out of due South fandom without really noticing until it had already happened. And then I was sad, because I had no shiny objects on the Internets to look forward to. At least now I've found Merlin and Kradam. (I'm against portmanteau pairing names on general principles, but I've decided that Kris Allen and Adam Lambert are just SO CUTE they have to be a portmanteau. *nods firmly*)

God, work is boring. There's nothing happening except that stupid spreadsheet I mentioned yesterday that I don't want to work on. H left at 3, so at least I don't feel like he's monitoring me. H will, however, be in at the regular time tomorrow. I know this because he sent out an email telling everyone he would be late.

I'm totally going to get caught up on Supernatural and SGA. It will happen. I'm in the process of acquiring all the episodes I haven't seen, and since I don't yet have cable hooked up at the new apartment (or Internet, for that matter) I should have plenty of time to watch them. acostilow hasn't seen a lot of Supernatural season 2 either, since she hasn't had cable or a COMPUTER for, like, evar. I really don't know how she survived. So we will catch up together, which is yay.

The teacher still hasn't opened the class, so I still don't have any idea what I'm going to have to do this summer, or how busy I'll be. It's making me increasingly mad, because the summer semester is short anyway. We don't have all kinds of time to fuck around. Also, I'm gung-ho about it right now. This doesn't happen very often, so I've learned to take advantage of it when it happens. And I can't, which is so NOT COOL.

I've been extremely irritable for a few weeks now. I don't know what it is, but practically every night I get to a point where everything people say, to me or to each other, and everything they do annoys me.

I got my hair colored yesterday! It's awesome, three different colors. Lori is completely awesome. The underside is really dark brown-red, which they call Cherry Cola. Then the top is chestnut and blonde in chunks, sort of. I completely love it. No picture yet, unfortunately, but I'll try to get one for you soon.

The Tour de France so far this year has been incredibly weird. Most of the leaders were out before it started, and now even the presumed favorites aren't doing that well, except for Floyd Landis, whose team strategy isn't making a whole lot of sense to me. The yellow jersey is getting passed around a whole bunch to people no one would have expected to get it. I just don't know what to make of it. It's not really as compelling this way, I can't help but feel. However, I do have a new Tour boyfriend, Yaroslav Popovych of Discovery Channel. He's 26 and from the Ukraine and completely adorable. So far this year we have learned that Iban Mayo completely sucks and Floyd Landis' hip is dead. Don't forget. There'll be a test.

I've been working a bit at my old job at SNU in the IT Department. Not full-time, but I am getting a lot of hours. It's not going to be forever, though, so I'm still looking for a real job. *sighs*

Today picara and I hung out with acostilow. We got to cuddle her adorable new kitty, which has been the highlight of my week. I am such a sucker for kittens. She's so small! And soft! We also watched the premier of SGA and Serenity, which I continue to love. acostilow made cherry cheese cake, because she is made of awesome.

Tomorrow I'm not working, so I have my counseling appointment. I think I may possibly have convinced the counselor I'm not seekritly a lesbian. Then again, she may just be biding her time before bringing it up again.

I absolutely love listening to it rain. I even like when there's thunder and lightning and it feels like the storm is going to shake the house down. I hate going out in the rain, but it's wonderful to be curled up inside, listening to the rhythm and knowing you're comfortable and safe. It's been raining for a couple hours, and I'm loving it. I went out on the porch for a minute just to watch, because it hasn't rained in so long and I can hear it better out there. Mostly I've been reading a wonderful long SGA fic, The Hostage Major by Frostfire and enjoying the sound of the rain.

There have been many happy things today. The rain, of course, and some excellent fic, and an SVU episode about a dead guy who had been sleeping with another guy named "Bull Dozer", and lunch at El Matador with Mary Beth.

So, yesterday was Supernatural. ( OMG Supernatural )

And then there was SVU! ( M.E. Warner is my new girl crush )

I haven't watched House yet, because I was too busy watching more Law & Order and X-Files reruns and reading SGA fic. I will definitely watch it tonight, though.

I am being forced to acknowledge that Christmas is fast approaching. Certain people are even putting up their Christmas decorations already. I'm not doing mine till after Thanksgiving, and I still need to decide if I'm going to use my small tree or get a larger one. The neighbors haven't started coating the complex in lights yet, either, though I'm excited to see what they come up with this year. Hmm. And I can't really put the tree where I put it last year, because that would put it right in front of etumon's computer. (Muwahahahahah!) My other idea is to put it by the window, either between the end table and shelf or where the end table is now.

I just watched the Brokeback Mountain trailer again and...I'm pretty sure that movie is going to break me. I mean, on the one hand, gay cowboys! But on the other hand, there's no way it can end well. It's going to be sad and depressing, which is not something I handle well. Seriously, I read a Stargate: Atlantis story last weekend where John died of cancer (I know! I'm stupid!) and I *bawled* and then was depressed for the entire night. If Brokeback Mountain didn't feature gay cowboys, it would *so* be the kind of movie I normally go out of my way to avoid.

My sleep schedule is seriously out of whack, which is why I'm up at 4 AM while I'm SICK. I slept practically all day, and now I don't want to sleep anymore. And I'm bored with everything. I already read books, and watched TV, and caught up on my flist. So tomorrow (by which I mean Sunday) I'm hoping I'll feel good enough to actually go *somewhere else* and do something. Then I can come back home and go to bed early.
